Delaney graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation and a minor in Psychology in 2024. She received her CTRS certification shortly after. Delaney began working with individuals with disabilities at the age of 16 as an assistant in Special Recreation programs. While in college, Delaney gained additional experience as a camp counselor at Camp Courageous of Iowa and as an activity assistant in a variety of long term care facilities. She also volunteered in the community through university organizations, such as Students Supporting Individuals with Disabilities and College Mentors for Kids.
Delaney discovered her passion for Therapeutic Recreation while working as an assistant with Special Recreation. She strives to create spaces where clients feel empowered to be themselves and to achieve their highest potential through recreational activities. Delaney is passionate about finding creative ways to communicate with clients and to modify activities to meet their individual needs. She loves to see the joy on her clients' faces when they overcome barriers and reach their goals.
In her free time, Delaney enjoys spending time outside while hiking, kayaking, reading, and painting.
