Kristen Copple, MA, CTRS
Behavior Consultant, Recreational Therapist, & Agency Event Planner - Central Region
Kristen graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2018 with a degree in Recreational Therapy and specializations in Psychology and Therapeutic Outdoor Programs. During her time at IU she worked as a camp counselor, facilitating outdoor adventure activities for people with disabilities such as archery, rock climbing and white-water rafting. She is happiest when sharing the outdoors with others, especially people with disabilities for whom access may be challenging.
After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she packed her bags and moved up to Anchorage, Alaska for her first “big girl” Recreational Therapy job at a psychiatric hospital for teen girls. After she had gotten her fair share of hiking, skiing and snowshoeing up there, she moved back to her home state of Indiana in 2020 and began working with people with disabilities on the Indiana Medicaid Waiver doing home and community-based interventions. She has really enjoyed her time with the amazing individuals she has gotten to work with.
In 2022 she decided to go back to school and obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University two years later. By doing so, she was able to expand her scope to include Behavior Consulting for individuals on the Waiver and currently works as a dual-practicing therapist. Then in 2025, Kristen was internally promoted as New Leaf’s Event Planner for the Central region.
Kristen loves to hike, read, roller skate, travel, and photograph the world around her. She is a huge Harry Potter nerd and has met 3 of the main cast members in the films as well as worked at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Orlando as a summer job. To her life is a great adventure!
